I’ve been feeling a bit of a reading slump coming on post Same As It Ever Was and The God of the Woods — I’ve picked up a dew different books since but can’t seem to settle on one (if you have a must-read book to help avoid/get out of a reading slump, please feel free to chime in!). It’s also the hot, sunny, and sparkly part of summer where it really starts feeling like summer: temperatures above 30°, bright blue skies, camp days, bathing suits & towels, the smell of sunscreen, cute sun hats, ice cream, barbecues, and breezy dresses. I’m embracing it all, and kicking it up a notch as we slowly start getting organized for our Maine beach vacation towards the end of the month. Here’s what I’ve been enjoying this week:
This summer dress from Old Navy—it fits like a dream! I loved it so much I bought it in both colours.
Coming across one of my most anticipated summer releases at the bookstore a whole week early! It came out on Tuesday but I spotted it last week and of course had to bring a copy home. I’m trying to save it for Maine but we’ll see how that goes…
- ’s post on her favourite bookstores in Maine. Hoping to discover some new to me ones this year.
Fully embracing my summer romance era and curating a wee July romance TBR.
All the sports! The Euro Cup, Copa America, Wimbledon…I love it all.
The best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever (and I’ve literally tried them all).
The Celine Dion documentary. A heartbreaking must-watch.
This delicious tea that’s perfect for when you want a decadent, cozy afternoon treat.
Carley Fortune’s summer booklist makes me want to read everything on it!
That’s all for this week! What are some of your glimmers lately?
When you’re in Maine, if you can get to Rockland, you must go to Arctic Tern bookstore. It’s one of the most beautiful bookstores I’ve ever been to, their curated collection is wonderful, and I could stay there forever.
I can't wait to hear what bookstores you check out while you're here! ◡̈
